As part of my seemingly never ending quest to graduate, I am writing a bi-monthly column on local music for kids who don't give a damn about local music. Shitty weather, the shitty economy, and generally shitty attitudes on the part of the majority of WCU students, has led to local shows becoming increasingly deserted. I try to write articles getting people excited about coming out and seeing a band, but nothing sways these kids.
The situation is frustrating, and so I come to my little blog to vent my rage in a way you might appreciate: by distributing free music. (Wow that sentence was awkward). All songs are from bands playing local venues in the next month (mostly The Grey Eagle), and all songs are freely shared by these artist on their various websites. (Which means our school paper could easily and legally offer a free music post such as this one on their website. Will they? Hell's no).
Download a song and if you like it, go see the band play, or if you're away and can't see them, at least you have a cool new song to listen to. Either way you've increased your knowledge of the independent music scene, which will make you seem hip and impressive to your friends and persons of sexual interest. Yeah so, without further ado...
